Hawaii Hotels

Since most of the Hawaii hotels are right on the state's beautiful beaches, it is possible to enjoy your stay in the Aloha State without ever leaving your hotel. Many of the hotels in Hawaii offer luau shows and other regional entertainment in addition to their restaurants and nightclubs. And since the islands' greatest attraction - the beaches - are right outside your door, you may not want to stray too far from your Hawaii hotel. But if you give into that temptation, you will be missing out on the experience of a lifetime.

Hawaii is actually comprised of six distinct islands. The "big island" bears the name of the state while the capital, Honolulu, is on the island of Oahu. Oahu is also home to the famed Waikiki beach - the birthplace of Hawaii tourism. The first tourist hotel in Hawaii still stands and provides an interesting glimpse in the history of the state. History runs deep in Hawaii. If you attend an authentic luau you will see the history of the islands presented through dance. For many North Americans a Hawaiian history lesson demands a pause for reflection at the Arizona Memorial in Peal Harbor.

Tired of history? Then let's go outdoors to one of the most spectacular playgrounds in the world. You will find everything imaginable in Hawaii. Beautiful beaches, tropical blue seas, magnificent waterfalls, spectacular volcanoes, jungles decorated with gorgeous flowers and inhabited by a variety of exotic species, and even snow-capped mountains. Water sports include surfing, snorkeling, kayaks and jet skis. Hike to the top of a volcano or deep into a ravine. Walk barefoot on the beach or dance the night away. The options are endless.

Hawaii's busiest tourist season is from December until February, since many visitors are escaping cold temperatures at home. The temperature in Hawaii varies little throughout the year, so you may want to plan your trip between April and November when Hawaii's hotel prices are at their lowest. No matter when you plan your visit you are sure to find more to do than you can possibly squeeze into one vacation. First time visitors are cautioned to plan their visits and their activities carefully. The temptation is to take advantage of every tour offer, and every available activity. Experienced visitors have learned to pace themselves and provide plenty of time for the official sport of Hawaii - relaxation.
