Lan Kwai Fong Hong Kong
Before the Second World War, Lan Kwai Fong was a hawker's marketplace. Over the years it has evolved into Hong Kong's hottest spot for dining, drinking and dancing with a vibrant cosmopolitan mixture of cultures and trends. The district is primarily defined by D'Aguilar Street and the smaller Lan Kwai Fong. The area forms a rectangle (although it continues to grow outwardly) that is loaded with restaurants, pubs and dance clubs. LKF boasts a wide range of cuisine: from Italian to Mediterranean; from Japanese to Thai and of course Chinese. Everyday restaurants and clubs in Lan Kwai Fong serve thousands of local people and visitors from all over the world. Lunch crowds flood the little square for everything from power lunches to quick dishes of Thai style seafood fried rice noodles. In the evening there are more than 20 pubs to help locals businessmen unwind after work, and invite tourists and locals to party well into the wee hours of the morning.
