Italy Hotels

Italy is a feast for the senses. Its beautiful cities and countryside, mouth watering food and wine, classic music, mild weather, warm waters for swimming, and friendly people will leave you feeling like you've found a home away from home.

Italy Hotels tend to be both charming and sophisticated without being pretentious. Many are family run and offer visitors a sense of welcome and belonging upon arrival. The hotels in Italy are also great places to plan your day: the staff is always helpful and willing to give advice on the best places to visit and restaurants to eat in.

The cities of Italy tend to be very busy and are often packed with people from every corner of the earth. However, most cities offer sights that should not be missed.

Rome is full of history, and an overwhelming number of fascinating spots to visit. From the towering walls of the Colleseum to the crumbling columns of the Forum, to the intricate paintings of the Sistine Chapel and the sheer size of the Vatican, Rome leaves its visitors awe-inspired.

Florence is often a favourite Italy destination for travellers. Known as the Birthplace of the Renaissance, it is the centre of the Italian art world, and holds the infamous statue of David, as well as hundreds of masterpieces in the Uffizi Gallery.

Venice is a lovely place to relax, do some shopping, and gaze at the gorgeous architecture while floating down the canal in a gondola.

The city of Naples does not carry the lure of the other Italian cities, but if you have time it's worth visiting in order to experience the excavated remains of Pompeii. This ancient city was buried in ash when mount Vesuvius erupted nearly 2000 years ago, killing nearly all of its inhabitants, and is still being excavated to this day. This is a fascinating look into ancient Roman lifestyle.

One of Italy's most breathtaking destinations is the Cinque Terre. Italian for 'Five Lands,' the five tiny villages are perched on the waters edge and slope up along the cliffs of the Italian Riviera. Paths carved into the jutting cliffs provide a trail that joins all five villages, and makes for an enjoyable hike.

Enjoying the lovely Tuscany is a relaxing break from the rush of Italy's cities. The Tuscan countryside is littered with small villages, olive groves and vineyards. Stay a few days, and find yourself a delightful little Italy hotel, dine on fresh pasta and wine, and enjoy the simple life.
