Epcot may be the world's largest science experiment. At least that is how it began. The "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" was Walt Disney's vision of the future; a community where technology and harmony reign. Epcot feels like two different parks in one. Up front, under the large geodesic dome dubbed "Planet Earth", there are a number of exhibits that deal with technology and communication.
The rest of the park is divided is divided into 11 different national "communities" where you can wander from "France" to "China" to "Norway". Each area features shops, restaurants, rides and attractions which presumably reflect the culture and activity of that particular nation. Experienced travelers will quickly note that much of the imagery leans heavily on stereotypes, but it is all well-intentioned. Epcot is probably the most relaxed of the Disney parks, and the crowd here tends to be a bit older than those at the Magic Kingdom or the Studios.
