One glance from the window of your Paris hotel at dusk will prove that you are indeed in the 'City of Lights'. Paris is one of the world's most famous cities, known for its class, fashion, architecture and art. Parisians are notoriously chic, and take pride in their lifestyle in this beautiful place.
This city of 10 million is divided into two sections by the River Seine: the Right Bank (Rive Droite) and the Left Bank (Rive Gauche). The whole of the city is divided into 20 districts or arrondssements, each with a distinct flavour and character.
Hotels in Paris range from grand, sprawling structures to quaint bed and breakfasts. Paris hotels also range in price accordingly depending on the amount of luxury you require. However, no matter how steep or little the cost, the mere feeling of waking up in your Paris hotel is as luxurious as it gets!
Paris' sights are endless. No trip to this city would be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower. The best time to visit is by far at dusk, when you can watch from the highest point in the city as the sky dims and the lights begin to twinkle. Cafe's are plentiful where visitors can sit outside and sip a strong coffee and eat a butter-drenched croissant while taking in the sites around them.
The Louvre is a monstrous gallery filled with famous works, including Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. The Arc de Triomphe offers a sprawling view of the city, and Notre Dame is breathtaking with its gothic architecture and stone gargoyles. The Cemetiere du Pere-Lachaise is home to the graves of such well known names as the late Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, and Jim Morrison, and provides a fascinating afternoon stroll through it's thousands of grave markers.
The evening is time to relax and stroll through the city's streets. Enjoy a meal of delectable French cuisine, and take a romantic boat ride down the Seine with your loved one: or perhaps find new romance as you're cruising down the river! Paris boasts many night clubs and theatres, the most famous of these being the Moulin Rouge where you can sip champagne and watch Can Can dancers, all in an atmosphere made famous in the Toulouse-Lautrec paintings, or more recognizably, the Nicole Kidman movie.
