Seattle has few sunny days in a year so, understandably, summer is the best time to come here. The main attractions in Seattle are Capitol Hill, the Pike Place Market, Queen Anne - stylish up market neighborhood of Seattle, and the Seattle Center where the 'Century 21 Exposition', was held and had nearly 10 million visitors from the world over. Other sites worth seeing here are the Space Needle, the Flag Pavilion & Plaza, the International Fountain, the Seattle Opera House, the Pacific Science Center, two sports arenas, a children's museum and the Fun Forest Amusement Park. The U district is where the campus of the University of Washington is. Make sure to leave some time for the Burke Museum, which has a good collection of dinosaur skeletons.
Around the Seattle area, the places to visit are Puget Sound, Bremerton Blake Island - the state park where President Clinton met with 14 Asian leaders at the APEC Conference in 1993, Snoqualmie Falls, the ski areas - Alpental, Snoqualmie Summit, Ski Acres and Hyak, Vancouver and the suburban community of Woodinville. Skiing, of course is the biggest draw here, others are hiking, swimming and wind surfing. When the weather is good, there's sailing as well as sea and white-water kayaking.
Seattle's main airport is known as Sea-Tac. This is a busy airport with many domestic and international flights coming and going. There are also Greyhound buses that link Seattle other major US cities. The Metro Transit buses are spread all over the city and are an easy way to get around.
