Singapore is proud of its new cultural center, as it should be. Officially named "Esplanade -Theaters on the Bay", this is a world class venue for music, drama, dance and visual arts, in a dramatic setting along Singapore's waterfront. Jendela is the 216 sq meter gallery, which features dramatic views of Marina Bay from its second-story location. It is an ideal spot for temporary exhibitions of paintings, photography, sculptures and other visual or tactile media.
The Concert Hall is the premier performing venue for music. The place is a technological marvel. Reverberation chambers and an acoustic canopy allow the Hall to highlight different types of music. The Concert Hall can seat up to 1,800 people. The Recital Studio is perfect for smaller, more intimate concerts. Of course there is a theater for dramatic productions and a smaller Theater Studio perfect for experimental works or dance productions. The Rooftop Terrace, the Edge and the Waterfront also provide unique settings for a variety of programs or performances.
