Vancouver Travel Guide

Vancouver Tours and Adventures
Vancouver and British Columbia is a place of outstanding natural beauty. It is famous for its wildlife, scenery and outdoor activities. So if you are travelling to Vancouver you will certainly want to experience some of it. This section is to help you with ideas.

Vancouver
Simply stated, Vancouver is beautiful. Its setting provides a natural beauty unsurpassed in most similarly sized cities. Whether you are on the waterfront, on the mountains or just enjoying the view from your Vancouver hotel, you will be taken by majestic beauty of the emerald jewel of Canada. In many cities, ocean view rooms come at a premium; but in the hotels in Vancouver nearly every view is breathtaking.

Nestled between the Coast Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver offers spectacular views of the seas, glacial fjords and snowcapped wooded mountains. As you might expect, Vancouver is a city for those who love the outdoors. Sandy beaches, lush rainforests, and the mountains provide dozens of opportunities for diving, windsurfing, hiking, and skiing. The most popular ski resort in North America, Whistler's Resort, is just a two and half hour drive from the city. If that's too far away, there are 16 other ski areas - some as close as 15 minutes from your downtown Vancouver hotel.

Don't feel that energetic? Don't worry, you will still find plenty to do. The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre, Science World and the Kids Only market provide plenty of family fun. If history and museums are more to your liking, be sure to check out the Fort Langley National Historic Site, the Museum of Anthropology or the Vancouver Art Gallery. Chinatown and Granville Island, along with a number of modern shopping centers, will satisfy the most demanding shoppers as well as those who just like to browse.

But in the end, you will find yourself back outside. Visit Queen Elizabeth Park - Canada's first civic arboretum. Test the Capilano Suspension Bridge which spans 450 feet across and 230 feet above North Vancouver's spectacular Capilano River. If you prefer less motion in your bridges, you may prefer the beautiful Lions Gate Bridge with its bird's-eye view of Burrard Inlet and the North Shore mountains. And no trip to Vancouver would be complete without a visit to Stanley Park, the largest city park in Canada. Explore the Seawall, visit its meadows and lakes, and stay for the nightly firing of the Nine O' Clock Gun.

Vancouver - the "emerald jewel" of Canada, with dozens of treasures for the whole family!
